![]() ![]() As you watch the leaves fall, enjoy the show knowing you don’t have to rake them up.įor year-round lawn care tips, download our Lawn Coach’s Playbook below: So that’s one more chore you can cross off of your list this fall. Of course, you still may want to rake them into a pile for the kids to play in, but then you can mulch them away. Also, when you bag leaves, they may end up in landfills taking up space. Instead of raking and filling bags, you simply mow over them as you would mow your lawn. Related Read: Lawn Coach Playbook – Mowing New Seed Advantages to Mulching Leaves A layer of mulched leaves will not harm your lawn and may even work as a herbicide against broadleaf weeds such as dandelions. Plus, when leaves and grass clippings are mixed together, the carbon from the leaves and nitrogen from the grass work together to speed up the breakdown process. Shredded leaves will only take up about one tenth of the space they did before. Your lawn mower will pulverize those leaves into tiny pieces that will actually benefit your lawn. Simply run your mower over your lawn whenever you get a buildup of leaves. The easiest way to mulch your leaves is to use your lawn mower. It is bad to leave the leaves on your lawn as it can kill the grass, but instead of raking and removing them (a monumental and time consuming task), just mulch them instead. Many homeowners think they have to remove all of those leaves or it will be detrimental to their lawns. Not looking forward to raking those thousands of leaves that will be falling soon? For example, using FastSteps, the built-in point-and-click scripting capability, we automated repetitive tasks, such as filtering activities and printing reports. Throughout FastTrack Schedule 8, we noticed many smaller improvements that, combined, made a big difference. When we then added tasks or moved existing ones within the hierarchy, WBS codes updated automatically, making it extremely easy to divide and reorganize large projects into manageable pieces. WBS lets you identify project tasks with individualized numeric or alphanumeric labels, and we used version 8’s new and easy-to-use dialog box to assign a custom WBS sequence to each task. Kicking Projects Up a Notchįull-time project managers have long relied on WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) codes as a means of controlling a project’s phases, down to the minutest detail. Organized by industry (publishing and law, for example) these files offer a starter collection of tasks you can use when you’re not sure which steps are essential for a successful project. You might also want to try moving things along with some of version 8’s new Example files. While it’s up to you to determine your project’s scope–including deadlines, task assignments, and so forth–FastTrack Schedule 8’s templates help you put all these elements together without overwhelming you. With 43 possible columns and many formatting options for graphs, casual project planners may have trouble figuring out where to begin.
